After the judging, I circulated around the tent to taste soups outside my assigned category. One of the most delicious soups available was Chef Chris Clime’s Butternut Squash and Crab Bisque.

A smiling Chef McKnew and Megan McKnew of Ports of Call in Annapolis claimed both Judges’ and Peoples’ favorites for their Cream-of-Crab soup. It was fun to be part of a Maryland tradition, and I hope I get asked to judge again next year. It is events like this that cause me to fall more in love with my adopted state: Maryland.
